of the All College Council has
worked out an arrangement
whereby the college WATS (Wide
Area Telephone Service) tele-
phone line will be available for
student use on an experimental
basis on most Saturday afternoons
andevenings, from noon until 11
p.m.
This service will make it pos-
sible for TLC students to call long
distance to any point in Texas at
no cost to the student. The ser-
vice will go into effect tomorrow.
The telephone to be used for this
purpose wi II be the campus phone
in the Alumni Student Center a-
crossfrom the switchboard. Stu-
dents wishing to use the WATS
line will give the area code and
telephone number to the'switch-
board operator who will then
place the call. Conversations
must be limited to five minutes in
order to provide the service to as
many students as possible.
A request from several students
to have Memorial Gymnasium o-
pen to students on the weekend

motion to have an "open gym" on
Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to
5 p.m.

lock and unlock the gym, to con-
trol the lights, and to issue e-
quipment. The gym will be open
to TLC students, faculty and staff,
and their bonafide guests.
