the city manager. The motion
was seconded by council
member Linda Thompson
and passed by a three to one
vote In favor of the motion.
Council member Karen
Gayle voted In opposition and
said she felt the agreement
was too one-sided In favor of
Ewanlszyk and did not afford
adequate protection for the
City.

Richards, a native of

He served three years In the

Disposal (E.O.D.) officer and
Division Officer aboard the
USS Shangri La.
Presently, Richards is presi-
dent/publisher of Richards
Enterprises, Inc., parent
company of the Progress,
Index, Progress Office Supply
and Progress Printing
Company.
He is a member of the Texas
Press Association, having
served as president from
1994-95, the South Texas
Press Association, where he
served as president from
1972-73. and the National
Newspaper Association.
Richards is also affiliated
with various civic /communi-
ty groups. Including Aransas
Pass Rotary Club: Aransas
Pass, Ingleslde, Port Aransas
and Rockport Chambers of
Commerce, and the First
United Methodist Church.
Richards will be Joined on
the Council by the Honorable
Stephen B. Abies of Kerrvllle.
