Rockport art, gift shows coming up
The Annual Rockport Art
Association Members and
Miniature show will be held
Nov. 29-Dec. 31 at the
Rockport Center for the Arts.
The show of members' work
will include paintings, pot-
tery. sculpture, weaving and
much more In the main gal-
leries of the Center.
The Member's Gallery will be
filled with miniatures, also
created by Rockport Art
Association members.
Members and visitors to the
Center will have the opportu-
nity to vote for their choice of
outstanding members and
the top seven choices will be
asked to show In the Annual
Merit Show In August of
1996.
The public is Invited to meet
the artists and enjoy refresh-
ments at the opening recep-
tion from 5-7 p.m. Saturday.

by Rockport-Fulton Real

Center hours are from 10

The reprint of the History of San Patricio County has arrived
and Is ready to be picked up by those who pre-ordered at the
home of Keith Guthrie, 602 Field Ave., Taft. It is advisable to

The 647 page. 9x12 Inch book Is a reprint of the book pub-
lished under the auspices of the San Patricio County
Historical Commission in 1986. It contains a complete histo-
ry of the county, as well as several hundred family histories
of pioneer families.
A substantial number of books were ordered and will be for

Environmental Almanac Is
now available.
The Texas Environmental
Almanac is an environmental
road map of Texas. The
Almanac was created to pro-
vide timely, and comprehen-
sive information on the state
of the state's environment.
The publication will serve as
a useful reference book for
anyone studying the Texas
environment, as well as for as
for those engaged in public
debates shaping environmen-
tal and public-health policy.
Recent polls show that pro-
tection of our natural
resources continues to be a
major concern of Texans.
The Texas Environmental
Almanac Is the first compre-
hensive state environmental
portrait about any state in
this country.
The book is an approximate-
ly 400- page reference book
packed with facts, figures,
graphs and tables, and his-
torical and legislative Infor-
mation on the condition of
Texas land, air and water, as
well as the state's energy use
and waste generation. All the
information is presented In
an accessible and reader-
friendly format.
Included are special feature
pieces on pesticide use In
Texas. NAFTA and the Texas
environment, how to get pol-
lution data, environmental
indicators for each Texas
county and more.
It was compiled and written
by the Texas Center for Policy
Studies, a not-for-profit orga-
nization located in Austin.
The publication was made
possible by the generous sup-

Foundation of Dallas.
