establish an operational and sales
office in Corpus Christi to better
serve the needs of its customers
in Texas. Jay Gauthier has been
named area manager for the
office, which is scheduled toopen
in January.
Oauthier has over 30 years of
experience in the underwater
services industry, having suited
out as a diver in the Corpus Chrsi-
ti area. He worked with
Oceaneering for eight years as a
diver/supervisor and was one of
the participants in the record-
breaking 980 foot saturation dive
performed by Oceaneering in the
summer of 1984. “Jay knows the
geographic area and has the oper-
ational expertise needed to coor-
dinate the wide range of

available through the new office, ”
stated Steve Helburn, Oceaneer-
ing vice president of the Americas
Region.
Oceaneering’s 120 foot motor
vessel, the “Mr. Cliff”, will be
available at the new facility, along
with sundard equipment for air
and mixed-gas diving. Remotely
operated vehicle systems and
equipment will be mobilized as
needed from the Gulf Coast
headequarters in Morgan City,
Louisiana and the Corpus office
will also provide logistical sup-
port to the area operations of
Oceaneering’s survey division.
Oceaneering subsidiary Slus
Schall will also utilize the facility
as a base for non-destructive test-
ing/inspection operations per-
formed for area refineries and
chemical processing plants.
