Typing Students
Visit Cabot Office
in Pampa Recently
Students of the advanced typing
class of White Deer High School vis-
ited the Cabot offices in the Hughes.

ruary 26. The trip was designed by j
Mrs. Hudgins to acquaint the class
with the different business tech-
niques used in each office. The pur-
pose was to give the students a gen-
eral idea of what work in a large
office would be like.
Among the different departments
they saw secretarial work, IBM op- i
eration, drafting, personnel and;
many other important jobs that are!
carried on daily to make their com-i
pany successful.

were the most interesting part of
the company. The largest computer
is said to be able to read 1000 cards
per minute. They saw a machine
that transports a picture to the
Boston office over the telephone
lines. The keypunch machines were
also featured in the IBM section of
the offices.
Before leaving the building, the
group visited the New York Stock
Exchange office on the street floor.
They also visited the Pampa Print
Shop where they observed the use!
of the linotype and other printing!
equipment.
The field trip was a very suc-
cessful and enlightening experience
for the entire class.
THREE LOCAL BOYS WITH
TYME MUSICAL GROUP
Tyme Band shared top billing in
Amarillo Civic Center with three
other bands Friday, February 27,
under auspices of Station KPUR.
Other bands appearing were Yellow-
stone Fuzzy Hog Brothers from Ok-
lahom City, Oz and Fox groups. The
later two groups are local organi-
zations.
The Tyme group includes three
White Deer High School graduates,
Tom Knutson, Tom Henson and
Roger Simmons.
Attend Funeral of Cousin
Mrs. J. C. Freeman, accompanied
by her sister, Miss Pearl Black of
anyon, attended a funeral in Wolfe
City, Texas, for their cousin, Mrs.
L. M. Joyner. They also visited in
Commerce, Texas, with Mr. and
Mrs. Everett Whitley.
