Yesterday in the district court Wil-
helmina Falkenthal filed a divorce suit
against ex-Alderman Louis Falkenthal.
The causes alleged for the granting of
said divorce being obscenity in the pres-
ence of her children, intoxication, cruelty
and willful abandonment. The plaintiff
and her two children by a former hus-
band own a small estate now occupied by
them as a homestead. She also avers
that there is a small community property
owned by herself and present husband,
on which ho has collected the rents
amounting to $1000 per year, not even
paying the taxes thereon. The defend-
ant is charged with squandering $8000
worth of community property, at the same
time contributing little or nothing to the
support of his family. Plaintiff there-
fore prays for decree of divorce, partition
of community property, custody of her
two children, and that defendant be com-
pelled to make provision for the support
of his children.

TO-MORROW NIGHT.
Our readers should not forget that to-
morrow night the Tremont opera house
will open for a preliminary season with
one of the greatest minstrel combinations
on the road—McIntyre & Heath’s. Last
night the Tremont was lighted up to test
the new gas fixtures and the test was
highly satisfactory. The house will be
thoroughly ventilated to-morrow night
and everything possible will be done by I
the management to make the audience
comfortable. Speaking of McIntyre &
Heath’s minstrels the Decatur (Ill.) Her-
ald of August 11, 1886, says: “They
opened the amusement season at the
opera house last, night. * * The house
was crowded below and the gallery gods
were out in force. The company is
evenly balanced and the entertainment
they give is rruch above the average.
There is not a dull act in the entire show.
Hi Tom Ward, in his specialty of the
McNish order, did very clever work.
Milt. G. Barlow was as artistic as ever,
and M- Intyre and Heath maintained their
reputation as one of the best song and
dance teams on the minstrel stage. Mr.
Gleason’s trained dogs performed many
wonderful tricks, and Howard, Russell,
Seeley and Talbert won much applause
in their latest success, “A Musical Pic-
nic.” The company, as a whole, is as
good as has been seen in Decatur for sev-
eral seasons.”
