Dear Mrs. Warren:
1 read your suggestion
for electing 3 women to the
Telephone Director Boards
I agree with the people liv-
ing in Crow Flat, for the
need of better telephone ser-
vice, but would like to men*
tion, we in Dell City are
probably paying the highest
phone rate of any incorpor-
ated city in Texas.
I would like to ask the po-
sition of the three Candidates
you mentioned, on the change
of by-law 7, relating to com-
pensation, medical insurance
for the directors and their
dependants, which could cost
as much as $700.00 extra
per director per year. There
appears to be plenty of can-
didates, willing to serve the
Coop, as directors without
pay.
I am wondering if the ex-
tra compensation for the
directors will cost the mem-
bers another raise in tele-
phone rates ?
I urge you and all who vote
either by proxy or in person,
to vote against constitutional
change of Article 7.
Sincerely,
J. D. Lee

OUR CONDOLENCES TO
the Denmon Lewis family...
.... truly a pioneer, colorful
and well-known, he will be
missed a living memo-
rial to him is his nice big
family, and fondly remem-
bered will be his talent of
playing the fiddle in his own
self-taught way, bringing joy
to many. .
THE WEEK OF MARCH 7-11
is PUBLIC SCHOOL WEEK... .'
.... everyone is invited to
visit the schools and take a
thorough look at what is
going on and being accom-
plished in the various schools
in our county and ex-
change day perhaps would be
good where visitors from var-
ious schools in the county
could visit other schools, a
working togetherand a com-
parison that would be bene-
ficial to everyone.... the
schools are as good as the
administration, teachers,
and community interest....
interest is contagious,
but also contagious, too, is
a lack of interest... .with
the Board of Trustee Elections
coming up April 2, everyone
should take a long-hard look
at whose running for positions
on the board.... what they
stand for.... or will stand
for.... or whether they stand
for anything.... .will they
be an asset on the board, etc ?
.... NICE TO SEE THE SUN
WITHOUT the wind and dust
for a few days.... last week's
duststorm was something to
behold!!!
