HOW HE ACCOMPLISHED IT
Sir Eric Geddes once remarked
that before doubting any statement a
man may make, no matter how seem-
ingly incredible it sounds, one should
bo quite sure as to .its precise mean,
ing.
In order to illustrate his contention
ho went on to instance the case of it
friend uf his who knew ...ire about
billiards and chess, and who told him
one day that ho had beaten tho ama-
teur champions of England at both
games. - *
Sir Erie expressed great surprise
and some incredulity, but the other
persisted thht his statement was
quite true.
"You .so," he explained, “I look on
the champion billiard player at chess,
of which’ he knew nothing, and I

FUNERAL OF BABY HKI.D
The funeral of. Ruby Joe Rogers,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rogers,
was held at the home five miles south-
west of town Saturday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock. The service was con-
ducted by Rev. J. J. Pritchett of the
South Bonham Methodist church, who
spoke many consoling words to the
parents, grandparents and little
brothers and sisters.
Ruby Joo was 2 year* and three
months nld at the time u( her death.
Every effort was put forth by the
attending physician and patents to
help the child sustain life, but of no
avail.
