No. 81 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the disclosure under the public information law of 3 certain information related to parades, concerts, or other 4 entertainment events open to the general public that are paid for 5 with public funds. 6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 7 SECTION 1. Section 552.104, Government Code, is amended by 8 amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as 9 follows: 10 (b) Except as provided by Subsection (c) , the [The] 11 requirement of Section 552.022 that a category of information 12 listed under Section 552.022(a) is public information and not 13 excepted from required disclosure under this chapter unless 14 expressly confidential under law does not apply to information that 15 is excepted from required disclosure under this section. 16 (c) Subsection (b) does not apply to information described 17 by Section 552.022(a) relating to the receipt or expenditure of 18 public or other funds by a governmental body for a parade, concert, 19 or other entertainment event paid for in whole or part with public 20 funds. A person, including a governmental body, may not include a 21 provision in a contract related to an event described by this 22 subsection that prohibits or would otherwise prevent the disclosure 23 of information described by this subsection. A contract provision 24 that violates this subsection is void.
