Chapter 190 H.B. No. 2228 1 AN ACT 2 relating to the inspection of certain boilers. 3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 4 SECTION 1. Section 755.026, Health and Safety Code, is 5 amended by amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (c-1) to 6 read as follows: 7 (a) With the approval of the executive director and the 8 inspection agency that has jurisdiction for the power boiler, the 9 interval between internal inspections may be extended to a period 10 not exceeding a total of 60 months. For unfired steam boilers or 11 steam collection or liberation drums of process steam generators, 12 the inspection interval may be extended to the next scheduled 13 downtime of the boiler, but not exceeding a total of: 14 (1) 84 months for unfired steam boilers; [e-rI- 15 (2) 120 months for steam collection or liberation 16 drums of process steam generators manufactured before January 1, 17 1970; or 18 (3) 144 months for steam collection or liberation 19 drums of process steam generators manufactured on or after January 20 1, 1970. 21 (c-1) The executive director and the inspection agency on 22 request may grant an extension for a period not to exceed 24 months 23 in addition to the extension authorized under Subsection (a)(2). 24 The request must include a report issued by an engineer licensed by
