Levelland was down 5-4 in
the first period. Levelland recov-
ered in the second period scoring
13 points. Ambrosia Joyce
sparked the drive with eight of
the points. The defense held
Harlandale to no points for a 17-5
lead at the break.
Levelland continued to shoot
the ball well through the third and
fourth periods staying in com-
mand of the ball game.

Harlandale ended tournament
play for Levelland #3 by the

NATIONAL RUNNER-UPS - Madisonville finished the 2003
National Girls Little Dribbler Tournament as the second place team.
They fell to Orangefield by a score of 54-33. They were 'competing in
the American Senior Division. Members of the team are: (1) Bianca
Bennett, (2) April Ford, (3) Tiara Morning, (4) Jasmine Jones; (6)
LaTorie Jenkins, (7) Victoria Betts, (8) Samantha Molina, (9)
Shandara Bennett, (15) Hope Cooper, (23) Nikia Robinson, (34)

both the third and fourth periods.

Levelland #1 continued to
stay alive in the tournament with
a 35-17 win over Pflugerville
Levelland had a 6-2 lead in
the first period. Tiffany Rice and
Veronica Hernandez combined
shots in the second period to push
Levelland out to a 16-7 lead at
the break.

Bryan opened with a huge
18-8 lead in the first period. They
added to their lead in the second
period leading 26-13 at the break
Levelland mounted a come-
back in the second half outscor-
ing Bryan 9-5 in the third and 15-
8 in the fourth periods. It was not
enough as the buzzer sounded the
two-point victory for Bryan.
Joyce had three points, Rice
with seven points, Brashear with
five, Cavazos with five, Hernan-
dez with 14 points, and Kemp
with three points.
Plainview #1 beat Navasota
31-24 to stay alive in the tourna-
ment. Owens led Plainview with
nine points. Navasota was led by
Culbreath with 14 points.
Whitehouse beat Snyder in
the winners bracket by the score
of 32-25. Whitehouse was led by
Sasha Wickware with nine points.
Snyder was led by Shaquita
Sneed with nine points.
Plainview #1 continued to
work their way back to the top
with a 28-22 win over Bryan.
Brock scored eight points for
Plainview. Karla Gilbert with
nine points for Bryan.
Plainview # 1 beat Snyder 30-
21 to land in the championship
final Brock had nine points for
Plainview. Sneed had six points
for Snyder.
Whitehouse and Plainview
#1 ended tournament play.
National Senior Division
Whitehouse and Plainview
fought in the final round of the
National Senior Division before
Whitehouse won .the title by a
score of 38-33. There were nine
teams competing in this division
The score was 10-9, White-
house, at the end of the first pe-
riod
Whitehouse shot the ball
well from around the court out-
scoring Plainview 15-4 in the
second period for a 25-13 lead at
the break
Plain view kept their compo-
sure and came out in the third
period outscoring Whitehouse
13-7. There was a margin of six
points separating the teams^omg
into the final period (32-26).
The game was spent at the
free throw lines in the final six
minutes of action. Plainview
picked up a point on Whitehouse
but it was not enough as the final
buzzer sounded and Whitehouse
was the national champion.
Scoring for Plainview were
Meagan Igo with six, Taniqua.
Ards with four, Caitlyn Gilleland
with nine, Jessica Williams with
eight, Jessica Poole with three,
and Katie Shirley with two
points.

Lamesa set the tone in the
first period by a score of 8-5.
They poured in 14 points in the
second period holding Levelland
to only four points.
Levelland matched points
with Lamesa in the third period
but Lamesa took off in the final
period scoring 14-8 for the even-
tual 41-22 score.
Scoring for Levelland were
Lezli Parrish with one, Mellanie
Beversdorf with four, Katherine
Albus with four, Carson with
five, Megan Pinkert with two,
Jacey Morris with six points.
