widely separated areas were the developments in th * gen-
strike situation today in China. American and Japanese
destroyers were rushed to Nippo following a mob attack on
the customs station there. One Jap and one Russian were re-
ported killed. It is also reported that the Jap customs com-
missioner was killed at Ku Chow bv a mob.
