an 18-16 victory over Troph-
ies By Flair in a playoff
game.
Both championship games
were close the whole way,
with the winning team not
Twenty-seven parents and
their 30 junior partners
fished in the June Tourna-
ment of the Burleson Bass I
Club last Saturday and Sun-
day at Lake Granbury.
John Noe had the big bass
and individual big string for
the parents and Charlena
Brewer was the winner
among the girls. Boys winn-
ing prizes were Mike Mieth,
Billy Pickle, Robert Webb,
Marty Painter, Bob Mieth,
Eric Brewer and Jimmy
Edson.
On Sunday, Tournament
Day, 26 teams fished and
caught a total of 63-12
pounds of fish.
The individual big bass
was caught by James Fuller
and weighed 6-13 pounds. He
also won the individual
heavy string with the same
fish and weight.
Team string winners were
Ronnie Poe and John Noe,
first; Ted Russell and Gene
Briley, second; James Fuller
and Doug Phinney, third; i
Frank Smith and Tom Wood,
fourth; and Charles Wright
and Frank Davis, fifth.
Prizes will be awarded at
the bass club’s next meeting
July 12 at the F&M State
Bank community room.
The Fort Worth organization dotfated the
money to the BYA to help with the costs
of this year’s athletic programs for boys
and girls of the Burleson area.

total membership of over

title by a full three games by
posting a 7-2 record; Bob’s
Donuts did their usual thing
by winning the minor girls
crown with a perfect 14-0
mark; Ivie Construction won
the Pinto American League
title by one game with a 6-2
record; the First State Bank
of Rio Vista went undefeated
in winning the Mustang
National League; Haskew
and Gamble won the Mus-
tang American League title
by a four game margin:
Stoval Electric won the
Bronco National League title
by a bare half game; and
Burleson Muffler won the
Bronco American League
race by three games.
Bob’s Donuts will repre-
sent the minor girls league in
tournament play this week-
end at White Settlement.
That tournament begins to-
day (Thursday) and contin-
ues through Saturday.
