The first “Country Classic" Junior
Heifer Show has been scheduled for
May 27, 1969 at the Washington
County Fairgrounds on Loop 577 in
Brenham, Texas. The show will be
hosted by the Texas Junior Maine
Anjou Association and will be a
T.C.C.A. (Texas Club Calf Associa-
tion) sanctioned show. The event
will represent 17 registered breeds
of cattle as well as 3 All Other Breed
divisions including American, Bri-
tish, and Exotic. The heifers will
require registration papers to show
in the respective breed divisions.
There will be 6 age classes in each
breed division and the first 4
placings in each class will work on a
pay back scedule of 70%, 60%, 50%
and 40% respectively which will all
be paid the day of the show. The
entry fee will be 620.00 per head with
a late fee of 65.00 and must be
submitted on or before May 15,1969.
John Kuykendahl of Llano, Texas
Will be the judge for this youth
oriented event. Kuykendahl will also
be responsible for placing 5 exhibi-
tors in each of the 4 showmanship i
divisions. The pee wee division will
consist of future showmen ages 7
and under who may enter the contest
for 61.00. The 3 remaining divisions
including Junior, ages 8 - 11;
intermediate, ages 12-14; and senior,
ages 15 and older may enter the
competition for a 65.00 fee.
The specialty of the day will be a
drawing for a Maine Anjou Prospec-
tive Show Heifer The embryo trans-
plant heifer sired by Red Alert has
been donated by Dr. Lynn Esse of
Kenedy, Texas. Tickets are being
sold in advance by most T.J.M.A.A.
and the T.J.M.A.A.
This special event will be a day
filled with many awards for deserv-
ing youngsters. Some of the awards
will include a set of Suremaster
Clippers and an Amercan Breeders
Service (ABS) A.I. School. Each
exhibitor will be entitled to one
chance in the clipper drawing for
each heifer entered and shown at the
show. The drawing for the A.I.
school will require a minimum of 3
heifers entered by any one exhibitor
who then receives one chance in the
drawing. An exhibitor will be en-
titled to additional chances provid-
ing more than 3 heifers are entered
in the show which may include any
breed combinations as long as they
are shown by the same exhibitor.
Several drawings will be held after
each breed division with only parti-
cipating exhibitors of that breed
included. There will also be a special
award for the exhibitor which
travels the fartherest actual di-
stance to attend the show. Late
entries are acceptable but will not
qualify for any of the drawings.
Other awards to be presented in-
clude over 3,500 lbs. feed, ivermectin
wormer, feed supplements, boot
bags, jackets, metal show boxes,
show supplies, cash, and much much
more. There will be more prizes and
winners than you can inunagine!
The check in times will be from 6
p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 26th
and from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. on show
day. An official from the Texas
Animal Health Commission will be
present at the gate at the above
times only to check health papers.
The cattle will be bedded on sand
and no hay or shavings will be
allowed for stalling. There will also
be no stalling assignments and
generators are welcome. All exhibi-
tors must be in 3rd-12th grades in
school and be a 4-Hor FFA member.

standard T.C.C.A. entry cards
(copies permissable) and mall to
T.J.M.A.A., C/ O Rt. 1, Box 147,
Brenham, Tx. 77833.

Funeral Services for Glenn Rod-
ney Pflughaupt of Dallas were held
Saturday, March 18, 1989 at 2:00
p.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church
in Fayetteville with Rev. Robert
Braun officiating.
Interment was in the Fayetteville
Catholic Cemetery.
Glenn passed away Wednesday,
March 15,1969 in Dallas at the age of
41 years.
A son of Glenn and Patsy (Kube-
na) Pflughaupt he was bom in La
Grange July 23, 1947. Formerly of
Fayetteville, he had resided in
Dallas for two years and was the
manager of a retail clothing store.
Survivors include his parents,
Glenn and Patsy Pflughaupt of
Fayetteville; one brother and sister-
in-law, Ron and Debbie Pflughaupt
of Fayetteville; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Sharon and Scott
Fritsch of Fayetteville and Betty
and Warren Guthmann of New Ulm;
also six nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction
of the Koenig-Peel Funeral Home of
La Grange.

FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Lindemann
were honored February 18,1989 on their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Family
and friends called at a reception hosted by the couple's children,
grandchildren and great-granddaughter at First United Methodist Church in
Brownsville. Kermit and Ruth were married February 19, 1939 in
Brownsville. They have one daughter, Lois; one son, Kermit; four
grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Kermit is the son of the late
Albert and Lydia Muenzler Lindemann of New Ulm and has three sisters,
Marian TietJen of Swiss Alp, Gloria Kautz of New Ulm and Rosemary Carter

passed away at his residence Mon-
day, March 13, 1969 at the age of 80
years.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sefcik
were held Friday, March 17, from
the Nelsonville Brethren Church
with Rev. Albert Michalik officiat-
ing.
Burial was in the National Cemet-
ery.
Bom in Nelsonville November 20,
1908, he was the son of Joseph and
Mary Sefcik. He attended Nelsonvil-
le Public School and was a farmer
' and rancher in the Nelsonville area
• all his life. He never married.
