MRS. LEROY LUETGE
Sylvie Petnisek’s daughter, Ruby,
who lives in Minnesota, was home
for a visit. Sylvie lives in La Grange,
and on Sunday Bessie and Miroslav
Petrusek visited with them while
she is here in Texas.
Warren Lee Barnett was one of a
group of young folks from the West
End Baptist Church to attend church
camp at Palacios last week. He
came back all excited about all the
activities they took part in and all
the fun he had. Jordan Barnett spent
several days with his grandparents
while Warren was gone.
On Sunday morning at about 8:15,
two air balloons drifted over Schoe-
nau. After inquiring it was discover-
ed that they lifted off from the
property near Welcome Hall near
Industry, and landed near the
intersection of Highway 159 and
Krebs and Dockal Roads. Milton
Huebner had an early morning ride,
and will give us more details of the
excursion for publication at a later
date. It was a beautiful sight to see
the two balloons slowly drifting by.
Willie Maerz celebrated his birth-
day on Saturday with all the family
and some friends coming to wish
him “many happy returns of the
day.” Part of the fun was at the lake,
and part at the house. Robert
O’Brian, Willie’s grandson celebrat-
ed with his grandfather since his
birthday is just a couple of days
later. Congratulations to them both.
The information about the Rev.
Paul Weiss last week came from his
brother, Herman Weiss. This week
the report is that Paul is getting
better, beginning to get his appetite
back, and may be able to walk again
soon.
Gary, Lisa, and Thomas Luetge
are spending this week at Lake of
the Pines in East Texas with
members of Lisa’s family and other
friends and relatives. This is a
yearly event that all the family look
forward to.
