buhr. Our thanks go to M.L.
Petrusek for this picture.
Clinton Blezinger has re-
cently bought the store and ga-
rage in Industry previously
owned by Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
bert Frank and family. Mr.
and Mrs. Eddie Franke and
family were the owners be-
fore that. Clinton tells me
(and showed me) the candy
case in his store which was
originally used in the Schoe-
nau Store many years ago.
He told me that Mr. Eddie
Franke bought it when the
Schoenau Store closed. Clin-
ton and Joann (Grebe) Ble-
zinger and their sons, Mich-
ael, Scott, and Gregory have
a beautiful little store, and
we wish them much success.
Clinton was a pupil of mine,
as was his son, Michael. Go
by to see them seomtime, give
them some of your business,
and ask to see the old candy
case.
Wilmore Maerz visited with
his father this weekend. Mr.
Maerz is doing very well.
Ceraldine Luetgevisited in
the home of her father on
Sunday, and had lunch in the
home of her brother and his
family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Mittanck. Barbara and Debor-
ah.
It was wonderful to see
Betty Ann and Roger Pomykal
home again and at worship
services on Sunday morning
after being away so long in
the hospital in Houston. Wel-
come home, Betty and Roger;
we missed you!
Thank you to the following
people who have given so much
encouragement to this writer,
and have made it all worth-
while. First my family, Le-
Roy, Gary, Bertha, and Ken
and my father, who read and
comment. Mrs. Miles Knolle,
Mr. and Mrs.Ernst Muenzler,
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Raeke,
Mrs. Myrtle Grebe, Mrs.Toni
Rudloff, Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Weiss, Miss Norma Franke,
Rev. and Mrs. A. M. Roos,

Four years later (from 1923
when the Schoenau School pic-
ture was made) the studio from
Weimar, Texas, was again in
our area. The picture taken in
1923 was published in the New
Ulm Enterprise November 14.
This week we have the picture
taken in Industry in 1927. Some
of the same pupils are on this
picture because when they
completed school at Schoenau
many went on to Industry
where they could benefit from
going to high school (Industry
had ten grades). The pupils
are as follows: sitting on the
front row from left to right
are Milton Makowski, Elwood
Christen, Stanley Vasicek, and
Norbert Blexinger. On the se-
cond row from the front are
Josephine Lahrmann, Florena
Marek, Alice Schramm, Al-
meda Eckermann, Gladys
Hoppe, and Bernice Delion.
Standing beside the steps on
the left are Miroslav Petru-
sek, Ben Knolle, with Elberta
Spreen beside them. On the
right are Annie Zaskoda, Otto
Zanek, Milton Lindemann, and
Hilda Herbrig. On the next row
are Otto Marek, Edmund Sip-
tak, Linwood Beckmann.
