Furr Supermarkets To Open
Eight Day Food Fair Friday
Furr’s Super Markets in West
Texas and eastern New Mexico
will spring wide its door Friday,
(April 29) to a gigantic 8-day
Food Fair, celebrating it 45th
anniversary.
Prizes reaching to $50,000 which
include three 1949 Kaiser Deluxe
automobiles and $10,000 in foods
alone, will feature the event which
has been scheduled as Furr’s way
‘‘to say thanks.”
The world’s largest salami say-
sags, 14-foot creature; the world's
largest Wisconsin cheddar cheese;
a two-day Cooking School Mon-
day and Tuesday, May 2 and 3 at
the Clifton Theatre; drawings each
day at the Furr’s stores at 3 p. m.;
guessing contests for prizes for all,
—are just some of the' “gimmicks"
to be staged for Furr’s customers.
“For loyal patronage during the
many years,—for this confidence
in Furr’s, we have concocted this
event”, Roy Furr, president and
general manager, said today. “We
want to continue to serve West
Texas and Eastern New Mexico,
to hold that fine loyalty and merit
it by our service, cleanliness, cour-
tesy and every-day low prices of
nationally-known merchandise,”
he said.
Tickets have gone free at all
stores since Monday, April 18.
These have been dropped in draw-
ing boxes. There they stay through
the Food Fair, April 29-May 7,
good for every drawing. As many
tickets as the person likes, may
be dropped. Stubs must be filled •
out. The winners need not be on
hand for the drawings.
