have moved to Electra from
Chillicothe where they are
residing at 509 S. Electra
Street. He has accepted em-
ployment with Texaco Inc.

remembered as -the former
Jackie Jones of Electra, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Jones, 111 East Wharton. The
Cranfords have two children,

Christmas decorating Ideas
will be featured in the Christ-
mas Idea Show held here Sat-
urday, Nov. 21 by members
of the four garden clubs of
Electra. The show will be
held in the Bailey Building
from 9 a. m. to 7 p. m. Ad-
mission price will be 50c.
Invitations have been sent
to area garden clubs to at-
tend the show. Each indivi-
dual club member will display
a Christmas idea or decora-
tion.
Coffee will be served thr-
oughout the day. A cordial
invitation is extended to the

Miss Thelma Wirges bro-
ught the program on Laundry
Aids. Miss Wirges said that
Monday is no longer wash day.
Physical stamina was all it
took to do the wash in the
“Good ole days” but we now
have 97 items to do the work
for us. She pointed out that
it is best to choose one item
to do the job and stick to it.
She cautioned club members
on the dangers of greying and
yellowing fabrics and gave ad-
vice on washing different fa-
brics separately.
Mrs. T. E. Smith directed
the recreation period with a
quiz game. Refreshments were
served to the above named
and Mmes L. H. Klinkerman,
W. F. Flippin, Claude McIlroy,
Claude Taylor, A. W. Witten-
bach, Jr., Fred Lalk, Cad

Mrs. Hoyt Gattis
Mrs. Hoyt Gattis, the form-
er Miss Judy Jarrell, was com-
plimented with a bridal tea
shower Saturday evening, No-
vember 7, in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. H. L. Smith, 208
West Wharton.
The approximately 35 guests
who attended were greeted by
Mrs. Smith and presented to
the honoree, her mother, Mrs.
Bill Jarrell, and the mother
of the groom, Mrs. B. J. Gat-
tis.
A bride and groom replica
decorated the register table
where Mrs. Brenda Garrett
secured the names of the
guests for the bride’s book.
The table was covered with a
white net cloth.
The tea table was laid with
a white net cloth and center-
ed with an arrangement of
pink roses and stock. Mrs.
Raymond Beaver and Mrs. E.
E. Fisher presided at the sil-
ver tea service.
Displaying the many lovely
gifts presented to the honoree
were Mmes J. E. Cooper, Elva
Haralson and Ed Thiele. Hos-
tess duties for the shower
were shared by Mmes Delmas
McBee, J. E. Cooper, A. L.

A brief statement of the
nature of this suit is follows,
to-wit:
After alleging jurisdiction,
plaintiff further alleges that
she and defendant were mar-
ried on or about Sept. 19,
1951 and that such marriage
relation still exists and that
the parties hereto have been
permanently separated and
have lived apart without co-
habitation for more than sev-
en (7) years immediately
prior to the filing of this pe-
tition; that there was no
community property accumu-
lated by the two parties, and
that there has been born two
(2) children, being Judy
Elizabeth Simmons, who was
12 years of age on July 11,
1964, and Jay Lonnie Sim-
mons, who was 10 years of
age on July 9, 1964.
Wherefore, Premises

the Defendant be cited to
appear and answer herein and
that upon final trial of this
cause she have judgment di-
vorcing, her from the defen-

Mrs. Lula Atchley
Funeral Services
Mrs. Lula Ann Atchley, 84,
a resident of this area since
1937, died Friday morning in
the Electra Hospital following
a brief illness.
Funeral services were held
at 10 a. m. Saturday from the
James B. Totten and Son
Memorial Chapel. The Rev.
Riddle Huber of Gainesville,
pastor of the Valley View
First Methodist Church, offi-
ciated. Graveside rites were
held at 1:30 p. m. in Holbart,
Okla.
Mrs. Atchley was bom Nov.
17,1879, in Alabama and came
to Electra from Grandfield,
Okla., in 1937. Her husband,
M. S. Atchley, a farmer, died
here in May, 1959. She moved
to Kamay from Electra sev-
eral months ago.
Survivors include two sons,
Charles Gragg of Kamay and
Stewart Gragg of Tulia; two
half-sisters, Mrs. Ola McCraw,
of Lubbock and Mrs. Pearl
Hughes of Wichita Falls; one
half brother, Dr. Walter
Stewart of Terre Houte, Ind.;
six grandchildren and 14 great
grandchildren.

1/2 cup sifted all-purpose
flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Heat oven to hot (425°F.). Sift together dry ingredients into
bowl. Stir in onion. Add egg, milk and shortening. Beat with
rotary beater until blended, about 1 minute. Do not overheat. Bake
in greased 8-inch square pan in preheated oven (425°F.) 20 min-
utes or until golden brown.

Held Saturday
The Chrysanthemum Gar-
den Club held an all day
work shop for making entries
in the Garden Club Council
Christmas Ideas Show Sat-
urday, Nov. 21.
The members brought ma-
terials and met in the garage
of Mrs. Cliff Waggoner at
9:30 a, m. A sack lunch was
enjoyed at noon with Mrs.
Waggoner furnishing coffee.
Mrs. Charles Hudson, presi-
dent, presided over the regu-
lar club meeting at 2 p. m.
Roll call was answered with
"What I plan to enter in the
Christmas Ideas Show." The
club voted to pay $5.00 foi
instant coffee and bring gifts
to the next meeting for the
State Hospital in Wichita
Falls.
Mrs. Hudson appointed the
following to the nomination
committee, Mrs. Ruth Con-
yers, Mrs. D. L. McBroom
and Mrs. Lee Roy Reynolds.
Christmas cards, ordered by
the club, were distributed
among the members.

crumble and combine the corn bread with other stuffing ingre-
dients for new flavor and color in a scrumptious holiday dress-
ing. And last, stuff the bird, then discover a bonus dish of savory
dressing for baking—it’s perfect for seconds!
CORN BREAD STUFFING
Fori capon and a one-quart casserole
1/2 teaspoon poultry
seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups chicken bouillon
Combine breads, celery and seasonings. Gradually add eggs
and bouillon, tossing lightly until thoroughly combined. Stuff
lightly into body cavity and neck region of capon. Roast accord-
ing to standard roasting directions. Bake remaining dressing in
a covered 1-qt, casserole during last 30 minutes of roasting time.
