Riding Club
Slates Work
Day Saturday
All members of the Electra
Riding Club are requested to
meet at the Rodeo Grounds on
Saturday, April 17, for a work
and clean-up day, according
to an announcement by club
officials this week.
The parade originally sche-
duled for Saturday has been
postponed until Saturday, April
24.
The Lillie Moore Circle of
the First Baptist Church met
this week in the home of Mrs.
E. L. Everett for Bible Study.
Mrs. R. C. Brackeen opened
the meeting with prayer, and
the chairman, Mrs. I. C. Deck-
er, conducted the business ses-
sion.
The Community Missions
project for the month was dis-
cussed, and Mrs. E. B. Now-
lin taught the third chapter of
Joel for the Bible Study.
Refreshments were served to

Everett, Clara Whitlow, C. R.

FTA Week To
Be Observed By
Local Chapter
Members of the Electra Fu-
ture Teachers of America
chapter* will observe FTA Week
April 26 through April 30.
Included in the observance
will be a play presented by the
chapter, and a day in which the
members will serve as student
teachers. Each member will be
allowed to teach the class of
his or her choice from the
grade school and through high
school.

HD Club Program
“Heating and Air Condition-
ing” was the program present-
ed by Miss Thelma Wirges, Wi-
chita County home demonstra-
tion agent, when members of
the Barwise Home Demonstra-
tion Club met Friday, April
9, in the home of Mrs. C. R
Rodawalt.
The president, Mrs. Ray
Strawn, conducted the business
session which opened with the
singing of a group of safety
songs and the recitation of the
club prayer.
Thirteen members answered
roll call with “what I like to
do when I have a few minutes
to myself.” The treasurer re-
port was given and plans wore
made to raise money by selling
vanilla and black pepper. Plans
for the club project were also
discussed.
The program chairman, Mrs.
Bill Marshall, announced the
next meeting will be held April
30 at the Electra Community
Center with Mrs. T. H. Barwise
as hostess. During the recrea-
tion period a game was led by
Mrs. Marshall.

You Are Hereby Commanded
to appear before the Honorable
78th District Court of Wichita
County, at the court house
thereof, in Wichita Falls, Tex-
as, by filing a written answer
at or before 10 o'clock a. m.
of the first Monday next after
the exportation of forty-two
days from the date of the is-
suance of this citation, same
being the 17th day of May A.
D. 1965, to Plaintiff’s Petition
filed in said court, on the 29th
day of March A. D. 1965, in
this cause, numbered 76,702-B
on the docket of said court and
styled Doris Scarber, Plaintiff
vs Leon Ccarber, Defendant.
A brief statement of the na-
ture of this suit is as follows,
to-wit:
After alleging jurisdiction,
Plaintiff further alleges that
she and defendant were mar-
ried on or about the 10th day
of March, A. D. 1959 and con-
tinued to live together as hus-
band and wife until on or
about the month of September
A. D. 1959, whenby reason of
cruel, harsh, and tyrannical
treatment on the part of the
defendant toward this plain-
tiff without cause or provoca-
tion, was of such a nature as to
render their further living to-
gether insupportable; that
there were no children born of
this marriage and the parties
acquired no community proper-
ty.
Wherefore, premises consid-
ered, Plaintiff prays that the
Defendant be cited by publi-
cation to appear and, answer
herein, and that on trial here-
of she have judgment of di-
vorce from the Defendant, and
for such other and further re-
lief, at law or in equity, to
which she may show herself
justly entitled as is more fully
shown by Plaintiff’s Petition on
file in this suit.
If this citation is not served
within ninety days after the
date of issuance, it shall be re-
turned unserved.

Playday Held
Sunday By
Riding Club
Sunday afternoon, April 11,
members of the Electra Riding
Club enjoyed its first playday
of the season, and plans were
made for the next playday to
be held on Monday night, April
19, and each Monday night
thereafter.
Points will be kept and priz-
es awarded at the end of the
season. The events will be ac-
cording to district rules with
three age groups, seniors which
are contestants that are 15 be-
fore April 1 of the current year,
juniors, those who are young-
er than seniors but have reach-
ed 11 years of age before Ap-
ril 1, and pee wee, those who
are younger than juniors.
There will be both boys and
girls divisions in each class.
Winners of the first playday
included pee wee, girls, Christy
Bell, 14 points, Susie McKel-
vey, 13 points, Carol Fowler, 8
points, Rossalyn Yates, 3
points, boys, Ricky Neff, 11
points, and Ricky Kidwell, 10
points; juniors, girls, Karen
Thompson, 12 points, Beth
Pierce, 11 points, Christy Eak-
in, 10 points and Judy Mitchell,
6 points, boys, Gregg Ancell, 13
points, Jackie Kidwell, 11, Bill
Fowler, 9, and Mark Neff, 6;
and seniors, girls, Jaree Hart,
12, Sharon Bennett, 11, Patri-
cia Knight, 6, and Linda Pierce
4, and boys, Kenneth Patton,
14 and Tony Bowden, 11.
Point winners through four
places will be announced each
week rather than the time in
order for those who wish to tal-
ly their points at the end of the
season.
A picnic following a trail
ride to the Electra Country
Club was held Saturday, April
10, by the club.
