The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge
club met in the home of Mrs. C.
B. Clements Tuesday at one o'clock
for their regular monthly luncheon.
The table centerpiece was a beau-
tiful arrangement of iris and roses.
Roses were used throughout the
guest rooms, also. The table was
covered in a pretty Maderia cloth.
The' delicious covered dish lunch-
eon was served from the small
bridge tables. Those enjoying the
luncheon were three guests, Mrs.
John McCauley. Mrs. A. A. Swan-
son. and Mrs. Roy Sonnamaker of
Olney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Clements. The members were
Mmes. J. K. Alexander, Roy Berry,
J. W. McCall. Cad McCall. Harry
Whitman. Gill Utt, Frank R. Fos-
ter, G. H. Fooshee. W. D. Hearn.
John Lindsey and Mrs. Clements.
Recepient of high score during
the afternoon of bridge was Mrs.
Utt, and Mrs. Swanson won cut
prize. Both were presented defense
stamps.
The Always Ready Class of the
First Baptist Sunday School met
in the home of Betty Williams
Tuesday evening at 8:30 p. m. for
their regular monthly social and
business meeting.
The outstanding business during
the evening was the election of
new officers for the next six months
period. They were: president, Betty
Williams; vice-president. Peggy

Duncan on Friday evening, May
1st, to celebrate Retha Ann’s fifth
birthday.

Blanding, Florida, is on a five-day
furlough and is spending it with

Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wingard of

arrival of their son. Leonard Wil-
son. born Friday. May 1st, weigh-
ing eight pounds.

Westover spent the week-end in
the home of Helen’s parents. Mr.

Mrs. J. L. Buck, Mrs. Winnie

Mackalyn visited in Wichita Falls
Monday. While there, they visited
Mrs. W. V. Barbee, who is very
ill in the Wichita Falls Clinic hos-
pital.
Loyd D. Henderson of the Signal
Corp from Camp Polk. Louisiana,
spent Friday and Saturday with
his parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. C.
Henderson and sisters, Misses La-
Ruth and Gertrude.
Lee Dawson, who is a Civilian
Mechanic in NYA work, in Uvalde.
Texas, is here for a few days visit
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Dawson of the Prairie Point com-
munity, and other friends.

We have been having some pretty
weather lately. The farmers are
all busy with their crops.
Mr. and Mrs. James Fenoglio of
Nocona spent the day Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Fenoglio.

were: Mr. and Mrs. John Berry

their daughter, born, April 28th,
weighing eight pounds.
Mrs. A. D. Lunn was brought to
her home Sunday, following an op-
eration at the Methodist hospital
in Fort Worth, several days ago.
She is getting along fine.
