On Friday after Thanksgiv-

We pulled off the Electra

City Police came by with their
lights flashing after someone. I
got out of the car and waved my
hands at them. In the meantime,
a lady came up behind us
coming home from work and
took my daughter up to where
the police had someone stopped.
The policeman said they would
come real quick. The nice lady
stayed with us until she knew
we had help. Thanks to her. We
did not get her name.
The two officers came imme-
diately to our rescue. We de-
cided the alternator was bad on
the car, and probably couldn’t
be fixed that time of night.
The officers charged the bat-
tery with their cables until the
car would start and could be
moved to the police station for
an overnight stay. They took us
in, made us coffee, and called for
us to be put up in your only mo-
tel. They took us to the motel
and stayed until we were secure.
The next morning an officer ar-
rived at 9 a.m. to pick us up and
take us to the station where a
mechanic was to check out the
car. We started the car and took 6*
it to Eakin Garage where they
fixed it.
I just want you people to
know that I really do appreciate
your kindness, hospitality and
gift everything. It sure makes you

Crime Prevention “Locking”
Minimum security for your home, or business means the
prevention of entry by a burglar through any door or window
except by means of a destructive force. Remember-Most burglars
will not break a window to enter!
Additional security means the prevention of exit by an intruder
through any door except by i " * m '
reduces the possibility of theft of large possessions after the
intruder has gained entrance through a window and is expecting
an easy exit through a door.
There is no way to make any home or business completely safe
from forced entry. However, good locks and secure windows can
slow the criminal down or discourage him altogether.
Start your security check with the front door and work clockwise
around the outside of your home. Include all doors and windows,
backyard, fence, shrubs, gates and garage.
Item #1 DOORS
Shrubs should never block the view of your doors or windows.
An intruder might hide behind the shrubbery while trying to gain
entrance to your home.
Nameplates on doors or the mailbox should have the last name
only. Do not indicate your sex or marital status on these.
