Electra Lions Club will spon-
sor the sixth annual Mop and
Broom Sale Thursday, April 27
from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in front
of the Chamber of Commerce.
Club members will be going
door to door taking advanced
orders April 24 and 25 th as in
the previous year.
Proceeds from this fund raiser
have two benefits, 75 percent of
the money goes to the blind em-
ployees who make these prod-
ucts and the remaining 25 per-
cent goes to the Texas Lions
Camp for Crippled Children in
Kerrville, Texas.
The Lions have had great

Spring Recital
Three young Electrans were
among 41 piano students par-
ticipating in a Spring Hymn
Festival Piano Recital on Sun-
day afternoon in Faith Baptist
Church, Iowa Park.
Brandon Day, Adam Good-
win and Zane Goodwin played
humns. Former Electran Michael
Swenson also participated.
Brandon is the son of Ronnie
and Mary Day Day. Adam and
Zane are sons of Jimmy and
Cathy Goodwin.
Michael is the son of Mike
and Deanna Swenson of Iowa
Park and formerly of Electra.
Brandon is a student of
Angie Corington of Iowa Park.
Teacher of Adam and Zane is
Wanda Bates.
Students of four Iowa Park
teachers participated.

funds approved by the Senate
are earmarked for “the pay-
ment of expenses incurred in ac-
quiring, constructing or equip-
ping two new maximum security
units and one psychiatric facil-
ity for the Texas.Department of
Corrections.”
