Poisons Three-Let Them Be
(NAPSJ-Lurking in the woods,
along park paths and even at
seemingly-friendly residences,
three enemies are lying in wait for
you and your youngsters: they’re
poison ivy, poison sumac and poi-
son oak.
For most people, touching
these plants will lead to a red and
itchy, rash. Usually, blisters will
form as well. The irritation caused
by these poison plants can be
spread all over the body—and
around the family—unless prompt
and proper care is taken.
Fortunately, there are a num-
ber of things you can do to protect
your family from poison plants:
•Teach your youngsters—and
remember yourself—to look out washed thoroughly as well to keep
for plants that look like those .them from causing
illustrated here and to avoid
touching them.
•If you find such plants on
your property, don’t pick them

9:51 a.m. — Large grass fire reported one mile south of Electra
on Highway 25.
3:05 p.m. — Police car on fire at convenience store. Fire
distinguished with portable equipment. Vehicle taken to City barn
and burned starter repaired.
6:51 p.m. — Report of possible structure fire in 500 block of
North Wichita. Two units of EVFD responded. Heavy smoke
damage was reported to residence. Residents were not at home
at the time of the fire.

Highway 25. One subject taken to EMH by EMTs. Subject later
transferred to Wichita Falls hospital.
6:24 p.m. — Caller reported finding a child’s bicycle in some
trees in 500 block of South Dunbar. Owner located and bicycle
returned. Bicycle had been reported stolen last week.

1:49 a.m. — Report of a fight and possible gunshot at a tavern in
Haynesville (Punkin Center). County officers and DPS notified.
9:24 a.m. — Business owner called to report an overnight break- against Charles Graden I ooper,

nonfiction section. I couldn’t
have done it without volunteers.

Oakley and Darlene Simpson
for all their help. The nonfiction
section is now open to check out
books. I’m sorry for the incon-
venience but it was something
that needed to be done!
I would like to welcome the
45 new members that signed up
in July.
A new policy has been started
at the library for overdue books.
The library will contact the
patron by postcard or telephone
the first time- about overdue
material. After a reasonable
amount of time the overdue list
will be turned over to the police
department for collection. There
is a book drop in the south ’end

mail boxes. Description of subject given and Post Office notified.
11:01 a.m. — 911 Call — Urgent request for an officer to come
to a residence in 300 block of East Lincoln. Domestic dispute.
5:07 p.m. — Traffic at Waggoner and Harrison. Subject arrested
for no driver’s license. Vehicle impounded. Subject brought to
station, pled guilty, paid fine and was released.
9:03 p.m. — One subject arrested in the 500 block of North
Waggoner. Subject turned over to WCSO for outstanding warrant, and boys one day last week.
