Teen Town was the spot
of the eighth grades after
graduation party. The eigh-
th grade parents reserved
the teen center for them for
Thursday night after the
graduation exercises.
Friday, parents sponsored
another party for the eighth
graders. Friday' morning
buses took the students to
Sand Beach Skating Rink in
Iowa Park. After a morning
of skating they went out to
the old machine, advantages
of the new machine over the
old, ability of the City to pay
for the new backhoe, and
different methods of obtain-
ing the machine.
Following a lengthy and
detailed consideration, a
motion was made by Coun-
cilman John Swanson and
drawing a second from
Councilman Paul Hayers, to
buy a Case Model 580-C
with cab and
extendable bucket from
Case Equipment Co., of
Wichita Falls. The total
cost, spread over a lease-
purchase agreement, was
placed at $26,950.
Commissioners agreed to
place the backhoe currently
in use by the City up for sale
to the highest bidder.
Also present Tuesday was
Raymond Greenwood, re-
presentative of C.A.T.V.
Systems, Inc., who present-
ed his company’s request
the Sand Beach picnic area
for hotdogs.
After lunch, the group
went to Chapperal Baptist
Assembly. There they
swam, canoed, played
miniature golf and other 4)
games.
The group headed home
about 3:30 p.m. to be back
by high school graduation.
The eighth grade class
wishes to thank all those
who sponsored their parties
and helped to make the end
of school fun for/them.
