Q: The crucifixion of Jesus
Christ on a cross was grue-
some and inhumane. Why do
Christians say that it is glori-
ous? — G.Q.
A: The ultimate victory of
the cross is that it could not
hold the Savior of the world. He
finished His work for mankind
there but the cross did not fin-
ish Him. He triumphed over sin
and death, winning salvation
for mankind. The resurrection
story of Jesus Christ is what
gives meaning and power to the
cross. What a failure Christian-
ity would be if it could not carry
our hopes beyond the coldness
believers in Jesus Christ have
no doubt that He lived among
us and ultimately conquered
the sting of death, offering the
human race the greatest gift —
His sacrificial love.
There is victory in the cross
because it represents doom for
sin and hope for sinners. It con-
demns sin and cleanses souls.
The bloodstained cross is grue-
some to some, but the empty
cross is full of hope. Satan over-
stepped his bounds, and God
turned what seemed to be life’s
greatest tragedy into history’s
greatest triumph. The death of
Christ, perpetrated by evil men,
was thought by them to be the
end, but His grave became but
a doorway to victory.
Though the cross repels,
it also attracts. It possess-
es a magnetic quality. It has
become the symbol of Christi-
anity because the cross is where
Jesus purchased our redemp-
tion and provided a righteous-
ness which we could not our-
selves earn.

means at least
12 characters,
mixed with
uppercase and lowercase letters,
numbers, and symbols. Avoid
common words, phrases or
information in your passwords.
• Don’t reuse passwords
used on other accounts. Cre-
ate strong passwords for each
account so that if hackers com-
promise one account, they can’t
access other accounts.
• Use multi-factor authen-
tication, when available. For
accounts that support it, two-fac-
tor authentication requires both
your password and an additional
piece of information to log in.
The second piece could be a code
sent to your phone, or a ran-
dom number generated by an
app or token. This protects your
account even if your password is
compromised.
• Consider a password
manager. Most people have
trouble keeping track of all their
passwords. Consider storing
your passwords and security
questions in a reputable pass-
word manager, an easy-to-access
application that stores all your
password information. Use a
strong password to secure the
information in your password
manager.
• Select security questions
only you know the answer
to. Many security questions ask
for answers to information avail-
able in public records or online,
like your ZIP Code, mother’s
maiden name, and birth place.
That is information a motivated
attacker can obtain. Don’t use
questions with a limited number
of responses that attackers can
easily guess - like the color of
your first car.
• Change passwords
quickly if there is a breach. If
you receive a notification from
a company about a possible
breach, change that password
and any account that uses a simi-
lar password immediately.
Throughout the month, BBB
will be providing tips and articles
on cyber security to help busi-
nesses and consumers find the
best ways to protect themselves.
You can find that information
at bbb.org/BBBSecure.

to be a savvy consumer, go to

activity or unscrupulous busi-
ness practices, please call the
