Friday’s game at Lions Stadium between Henderson and
Kilgore very much resembled a heavyweight-boxing match as two
Goliaths went after each other.
The Lions climbed back into the playoff picture with 36-29 vic-
tory in a hard fought battle that saw six touchdowns in the fourth
quarter alone.
The game resembled an Ali-Foreman boxing match from 40
years ago, each team pulling out the stops to try and best the
other.
“We really were,” a jubilant coach Phil Castles said. “And that’s
usually the way it is with Kilgore and Henderson. It’s a big rival
game. Those kids know each other. A lot of them are related. So
they are going to play hard and get after it. And tonight was no

locker room. >—->«-

the end zone.

field position and punted the ball back to Kilgore.
Kilgore promptly marched 85 yards in 11 play with Bulldog QB
Dalton McElyea finding DaVondrick Crowe from 22 yards out
for the score. The ‘Dogs went for the two-point conversion with
a McElyea to Donovan Adkins pass to tie the game at 15-15 with
