The office of Sheriff is one of the most important of all public
offices in our law enforcement structure. It sets the tone for law
enforcement in the entire county. It requires an individual of
proven ability and integrity to fill it.
I have spent the last 16 years as your County Juvenile Officer and
Adult Probation Officer. Prior to that I spent two years as De-
puty Sheriff. In addition, I have devoted a great deal of time and
effort to charitable endeavors both for county government and
for private charities.
I invite you to examine my record, talk to the people that I have
worked for and with about my qualifications.
If you believe that my record merits a promotion, then 1 ask for
your support for my candidacy for Sheriff. I pledge to you an
honest and efficient administration with the highest possible stand-
ards of law enforcement for Johnson County.
