When the game ended, and the
two got back into the car for the
return to De Leon, Bodie fumbled
his seat belt into position, despite
Trenfs pointing out that seat belt
infractions are undectectable in the
dark of night.
"You sir, are a bad influence,
and I ain't taking no chances, Bodie
responded with considerable heat.
"Not only that," Trent will tell
you. "The price of cokes went up a
dime at Weaver Drug!"

were not overused back in De
Leon.
"Lucky for you I'm not stationed
at De Leon," the officer responded,
"I'd give you a ticket every day! As
a matter of fact, if you start this car
and move one inch without a
seatbelt in place I'll stop you and
give you another citation!" He got
Trent's autograph and handed him
the detailed report of transgres-
sions. Bodie's sympathetic words
began to flow as the officer
crunched the gravel toward the rear
of the car, but he did not depart. He
circled Trenfs vehicle and pecked
on the window glass of Bodie's
door until Trent buttoned the
window down.
"Hl need to see your papers too
sir," The officer addressed Bodie."
You did not have your seat belt
fastened either." Bodie was issued a
ticket to the IP's office.
Once the paper work was
completed, Trent went into the
store and emerged with his refresh-
ment. The officer waited patiently
to witness the departure.
"I took my good old time getting
all my stuff back in my billfold,"
Trent will tell you," and that speed
cop waited me out. "We fastened
our seat belts and resumed our trip
to Dallas. We only passed one car
this side of Green Oaks Inn, and

Comanche Attorney Jim Parker is

hadn’t seen the removal order.
Saint Jude’s attorney Frank Hill
also declined comment.
Several questions arose following
the legal move - the foremost
being “Can St. Jude’s obtain a
license while a case is awaiting a
ruling?”
Nanci Gibbons who heads the
agency that can grant that license is
currently away from her office, due
to a death in her family and could
not provide an answer.
Rumors have run rampant since it
was learned De Leon was on Saint
Jude’s planning board for a pos-
sible emergency shelter. In a radio
interview former campus director
William A. Brewer indicated De
Leon, Ranger, Eastland and Brown-
wood were all part of a comprehen-
sive plan for several different types
of child care agencies.
