reclaiming of that structure and I
have been at it, Io, these many
moons. Folks, of course, said I waf

"You’ll be rewarded when your
labors are done and you get to
move in," I comforted. "My place
over in the Poverty Sink area of De
Leon has kept me busy since 1985.
And since dotage has laid its heavy
hands upon me I fear that I am
losing ground." A lone tear coursed
down my weathered cheek. "But I
still wage the good fight and refuse
to give up! Although 1 dwell in my

Ol' Margaret makes life tedious
with her semi-constant nagging to
finish the job, I'm hanging tough
and refuse to surrender.”
"I hear harsh words from my
wife on occasion,” he admitted.
"Oft times when I remove a wall
and passing motorists have unob-
structed viewing into the interior of
our house, my dearly beloved wife
chides me with considerable heat.
Can you see where I'm leading you
with this story?"
"You ain't going to represent me
in my class action suit," 1 hazarded
* guess.
"Bingo!" He replied.
"Why not?"
"As I’ve confessed," he contin-
ued, "I've already been categorized
as loco in the cabeza twice for
taking restoration measures on
these two old buildings. Represent-
ing you in such a feckless law suit
would surely lead the citizenry of
Comanche to brand me as a three
time loser in the crazy category. I
would have no reasonable defense
in such a matter."
"I understand folly,* I admitted
after thoughtfol deliberation.” I
work at restoring an old house.

Water Saving Tips
Saving water not only helps all of
us in the long run, but it can also re-
duce your out-of-pocket expense on
* your water bill.
I. Use a broom instead of a waler
T , hose to clean debris from patios,
tej! driveway, and sidewalks.
* 2 . Position sprinklers so that a lawn
and garden receive most if not all of
M w the water.
3. Deep soak your lawn weekly in
the morning or evening. Aerating
| your lawn helps it absorb water and
prevents water from running in the
1-id street. Letting your grass grow taller
kW in hot weather means less evapora-

M 4 When washing your car use a
bucket to wash and keep a spray
nozzle on the hose to save water.
H 5. Regularly check pipes, hoses,
M| valves and faucets for leaks. Replace
M| that rubber washer. A leaky (small
steady stream) faucet can double an
average water bill.
6. Only run the dishwasher and
