Lloyd E. Sanders, Sr., age 73, of
Whitney and formerly of De Leon,
passed away at Hillcrest Baptist Hos-
pital in Waco on Wednesday, De-
cember 9,1998.
Bom March 3,1925, in Somerton,
Arizona, to William David and Pearl
Cooper Sanders, he was inducted into
the Navy in April 1944 at Dallas and
received his boot training at the U. S.
Naval Training Center in San Diego,
CA. He was assigned to the Naval
Air Corps training and served in the
following stations: Naval Air Tech-
nical Training Center, Norman, OK;
U. S. Naval Air Station, Corpus

Joe Bailey Miller, age 88 years, of
Comanche, died Monday, December
14,1998, at Comanche Hospital. I
He was bom on July 24,1910, in
Johnson County toJoe Bailey Miller,
Sr. and Annie Catherine (Norris)
Miller. A retired minister, he was a
painter and a member of the Fust
Baptist Church of Comanche.
Mr. Miller was married to Maudie
Idella Eubanks on December 24,
1949, in Clovis, New Mexico. She
preceded him in death on August 21,
1967. On December 1, 1971, he
married Willie Magness in Co-
manche.
He is survived by his wife, Willie
Miller, Comanche; two daughters Jan
Owen, Fort Worth, and Pattie Sears,
Pueblo, Colorado; 14 grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; two great-
great-grandchildren; one sister,
Beulah Ridley, Portales, New
Mexico.
Funeral services will be at 10:00

GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY___________.On December 18,
1948, Dean Nowlin and Marie Forrest were united in Holy Matrimony. The
ceremony was performed by Bro. Frank Skaggs at the Skaggs* residence in
the Rock Bluff Community. Their 50th Anniversary will be celebrated with
their children and families. They have two children, Gary Nowlin of
Georgetown and Patti Bacon of De Leon, plus four grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
