NEWS FROM
CANTERBURY
VILLA
By Carrie Martin
Season’s greetings from all of us
here at Canterbury Villa. We hope
the little ones have their stockings up
and Santa fills them to the top with all
kinds of goodies
We would like to express our deep-
est sympathy to the family of Lucille
Rountree. We loved her greatly and
will miss her very much.
With Christmas here, it is always
good to have people come and sing
for us. The past few weeks we’ve had
lots of music to fill our home and
want to share with you who they
were. Lynn Fulcher and his daughter
Priscilla from Bangs filled the air
with beautiful country music and
lifted us up into the music they pro-
vided. RA’s and GA’s from the First
Baptist Church came > sing Christ-
mas carols and bring us a gift. The
High School Choir did a wonderful
job singing Christmas carols, and Wee
Care Christian Preschool brought
pretty Christmas cards they had made.
We appreciate all for coming and
hope to see you again soon.
Bible Study the last few weeks has
really been enjoyed. The lessons
Edna picks out for us are always what
we need to hear.
Bingo winners for the week are
Elsie Thornton, Margaret Mazurek,
Loman Gray, Jiip Logsdon, Jesse
Tunnell, Bill Gonzales, James Stew-
art, Lorenzo Navarro, Odessa Lind-
sey, Ruby Montague, Cecil
Hunsinger, Travis Dixon, Eva
Wilkinson, Annis Lasater, Bill Go-
mez, Wilma Logan, and Anne Brown.
Blackout winners were Cecil
Hunsinger, Frances Isbell, James
Stewart, Lorenzo Navarro, and Elsie
Thornton. We appreciate Doris Ham-
mit, Faye Nichols, and Dessie Watts
for calling bingo.
Betty Duke and her keyboard were
really enjoyed Wednesday afternoon
as she plays all our favorite songs and
keeps us singing along.
First Baptist Church and De Leon
Christian Fellowship have provided
recent Sunday afternoon church ser-
vices. It is always good to see you.
Gospel singers here to sing were
really enjoyed. Everyone always
looks forward to the time they are
here with us.
Visitors have been Ted Nowlin,
George Bingham, Doris Hammit,
Maurice Hanson, John Ray Johnson,
Betty & Seborn Golden, Roy Smith-
erman, Wilbum Overstreet, Steve
Overstreet, J. D. & Jean Lee, Red &
Mattie Bradford, Shawn & Cassie
