Mustangs Lose
To Angleton Team
It was a bad night for the Al-
vin junior high school Mustangs
when they met the Angleton
Witdkittens in Angleton—the Kit-
tens won handily in a 39-0 foot-
ball game
“It was a good game throughout
t^e first half,” said Coach Jack
Glasgow. The score at the half
was 7-0”.
Rut in the second half, the Kit-
tens started clawing and the Mus-
tangs found little they could do
about it. Coach Glasgow tried
both first and second string com-
bin itions bul the Ponies just
di-’ >’s click for touchdowns.
One of the Mustang’s principal
yard-gainers. Wesley Clements,
wa< out of the game and his
teammates missed him. Clements
br ^ke his foot n practice earlier
in the week.
An all Sunday School Hallo-
ween party was held Saturday
night at the Grace Episcopal
Church P Irish Hall from 7 to 9
p.m., it wis reported, and a large
group of youngsters enjoyed a
gala evening there.

costumes went to Judy Rice, Sam-
my Wilson, Shirley Barrell and
. Walter Royce.
Mrs. Gl?n Rice was chairman
of the refreshment committee and
was assisted in serving by the
Sunday S< hool teachers. Mothers
of the children prepared refresh-
ments.
A huge scarecrow with a jack-o-
lantern he id was the focal point
in decorating and fall leaves were
used in profusion to cany out
the chosen theme.
The Rev. I. F A. Kracke led
games curing the evening.

A MYSTERY NO MORE—-At least five readers of the Alvin Sun recognized the "Mystery
Farm of the Week published in the Wiginton-Hal Insurance Agency advertisement last
week and called the agency to enter the contest. The first to call, however, and winner
of twe tickets donated by the Alvin Theatre, was Mrs. Laura Jo Woolsey. She quickly
recogr ized the home as being that of M. C. Webernick on Muitang Road. Others who
called the agency with the correct identification were Charles Schueneman, J. T. Kincaid,
Charles Thomas and Mrs. Nell Truksa. Mr. Webnrnick receives c mounted enlargement of
the above picture. Another "Mystery Farm of the Week" is published in the Wiginton-
Hall Insurance Agency advertisement this week. The first person to call OL 8-3301 with
the correct identixication will receive two tickets donated by the Alvin Theatre, and the
jowner of the farm can have a mounted picture by going to the agency, 609 Willis.
Jinks Jr. sponsored the event.

Local Firemen
Called To Blaze
The Alvin firemen were not
nearly so busy last week as the
blast of the siren made it appear!
While the volunteer fire-fighters
were working on the siren in an
attempt to see that it carried to
every section of town, there were
not fires to fight every 15 or 20
minutes that night!
Fire Chief R. E. Ripley said
there was one fire last week. It
