Ministers of all faiths and the community - minded firms below persuade you to read the above
and make il a part of your life ... it is your heritage.
Pastor Harold Vincent assumed l>is pastoral duties here in Dec-
ember, 1954. Having he longest tenure of any of Alvin's ministers,
he has enjoyed the wealth of friendships formed with the other preach-
ers who have served Alvin during this time and with many of the
City s residents. Pastor Vincent says he tieasures hese friendships
very much.
Mrs. Jessie Vincent accompanies her husband on most of the
pastoral and visitation calls. Together they have be. ome a team that
has enjoyed rhe privilege of ministering through, prayer and council
to those in need of spiritual guidance, it is most rewarding to see
lives perplexed with assurance and confidence becaase they are led
to put faith and trust in the Word of God, the minister says.
The schedule of services and activity of the church are carefully
planned to meet and safisfy the spiritual needs of all. The following
ser vices and activities are conducted for this purpose. Sunday School
begins at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday. The school uses :he public school
grades system and cla.-ses are available for everyone** needs. Sunday
worship Services begins at 11.4X) a.m. each Sunday. This is the hour
that takes people away from their burdens of life and leads them into
Christ-centered worship. As a relative young movement the Assemblies
of God still stress evangelism. The effects of this emphasis is noted
and .elt in the eunday evening evangelistic rallv at 7:30 each Sunday.
The altar service is 'he climax of all the activities of the churt it.
Earn Wednesday evening at 7:30 a service is conducted for all of the
church that renders spiritual help during the mid-week pressures
of life. The Women's Missionary Council, elects their officersand
conducts their services. Their meeting is held each Tuesday at 9-30
a.m. The youth of the church, the Christ's Ambassadors, have their’
regular meetings each Sunday at 6:30 p.m. They have their elected
ottlcer-, and in addition to the regular meetings have numerous other
activities. Child evangelism includes rhe children of the church
Their service is conducted, also, at 6:30 each Sunday evening.
The church cordially invites the putlic to at’end these services
and experience with others the reality of God's presence.
