A public hearing on the increase will be
held on September 4,1981, at 5:00 P.M. at
the School Tax Office, 201 South Texas, De
Leon, Texas.

Tammy and Julia.
Mrs. Dick (Kathleen)
Sturdivant of De Leon was
buried last Friday. She was a
former resident of Desdemona
and also a sister to Freda
Joiner. Our sincere sympathy
goes out to this family.
Little Miss De Leon,
Christa 1 Gail Koonce,
daughter of Rickey and Tenia
Koonce, rode in Stephenville
rodeo parade last Thursday
and in the Hamilton Dove
Festival parade Friday.
Karen Creed was honored
with a birthday dinner last
Sunday in the home of her
parents, Pug and Vonnie
Gutbery. Others attending
were Belinda and Sonja
Martin, Holly and Angela
Creed.
Angela Creed had an
accident last Wednesday and
it took some stitches to sew up
her head. She is doing fine
now.
The ladies monthly social
will be Monday, September 14,
in the home of Mrs. Benton
Echols. Visitors are welcome.
Mrs. Louise Merrill visited
recently with her daughter,
,Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nicks
and family in Giddings.

troops attended Summer
camp this year, one had a
moving camp and Troop 181 of
Easland had a 12-day
expedition at Philmont Scout
Ranch in New Mexico.
This was the year of the 1911
National Boy Scout Jamboree
- they're held every fourth
year. Our council had a troop
of 36 Boy Scouts participating
in that activity. All Scouts pay
.heir own way to these events.
Your council does the
planning, training, and
coordinating for the
jamboree. Thirty thousand
Boy Scouts and leaders
attended this jamboree held at
Fort A.P. Hill, near
Fredricksburg, Va., from July
29-August 5. Including travel
and sightseeing our group was
gone for 16 days. Leaden for
this troop were James
Committee and
Business Committee.
Congressman Stenholm will
address the gathering at
Funday concerning issues that
face Congress at the present
time.
