Robotics challenge teams are
being created for middle school
and high school aged kids in
our area. The West Texas BEST
Robotics competition runs for 6
weeks with the Kickoff Event
on September 13 and Game
Day on October 25 in Lubbock.

training for Aug. 26 at 7 p.m
in the lot just north of the Fire
Station. We are going to be
working with the new rescue
tools we just purchased with
the grant we received from the
Texas A&M Forest service.
The guys are really excited
to get to work with these new
tools and ready to put them to
use in training.
Grab a lawn chair and come
out and watch our people tram
I think it will be worth the
sweat to see what all of our new
equipment will do.

Thornberry makes stop in Tulia
programs
The Texas A&M AgriLife Ex-,
tension Service Swisher County
Ag Committee will conduct two
producer programs in late Au-
gust.
A Swisher County Sorghum
and Com Tour is set for Aug. 21,
and a Stocker Cattle Workshop
will be Aug. 28. Both have a $10
registration fee.
The Swisher County Sorghum
and Com Tour will meet at 10
a.m at the Swisher County Co-
op Gin, located 1 mile east of
Kress on Farm-to-Market Road
145 From there, participants will
travel to the Mike Goss Farm,
south of the Flint Elevator, to
view a Pioneer sorghum variety
tnalunder drip irrigation.
The second stop on the tour
will be at the Jeremy Reed Farm,
3 5 miles west of Kress on Farm-
to-Market Road 145. The pro-
gram will include information on
a dryland sorghum variety trial
being conducted by Pioneer, fol-
lowed by lunch.
The noon program will include’
updates from the Texas Sor-l
ghum Producers and Texas Com,
Producers staff Blayne Reed,.
AgriLife Extension integrated;
