Dear Editor,
After reading the article on Adrian Bates this week, I just wanted to
share my own memory of Adrian. I guess I have known him and his be-
loved wife Wanda all my hfe. Adnan and Wanda knew my parents very
well and when my mom was expecting me, Wanda gave my mom a baby
shower Today I still have the card that was attached to the gift she gave
my mom When I was growing up my sister lived m Happy I loved to go
stay with her, especially in the summer My brother-in-law worked across
the street from the grocery store and I would walk across to get a soda and
Adnan would always fill a sack full of candy for me He never let me pay
for it, but always told me “he would take care of it” Then two years ago
when my sister JoAnn passed away, I was really having a hard time walk-
ing into the chapel m Happy, but there stood Adrian when I walked in and
with his comforting hug and kmd words he made everything seem better.
Adrian always had a heart of gold and a kind word. He will be missed not
only by his family, but his community and many friends. Goodbye my
friend, I will see you again.
