tices, contouring is fundamental to the preservation of |
our soil and water resources. Z
Contour furrows slow down water movement |
and help prevent topsoil loss. Too, they trap rainfall ,,
so that it soaks into the earth for later use by crops in <>
arid periods when the soil would otherwise be dry. <>
The value of contouring has been proven year <•
after year in better crops and greater yields on
ands of farms in every section of the country.
The County Agent and Soil Conservation Ser- ;;
vice Technician will help you in plans for contouring ;►
your land.
FREE BAND CONCERT
SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Prof. Hilmar Wagner, instruc-
tor of the bands in the public
schools here will give a concert
at the city hall Sunday after-
noon, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and
lasting an hour or more. The
concert will consist of a variety
pf numbers, all well selected and
presented. Prof. Wagner has had
unusual success in developing a
fine band. The public is invited
to attend this program. The band
is one of the outstanding accom-
plishments of this year.
The program will feature so-
los, variety marches, overtures
and popular tunes, making a con-
cert appealing to all alike.
A series of band concerts is
planned for the season if the in-
terest and attendance seem to
justify such continuation. These
classes are well trained. The
concert will be a treat. Every-
body is invited to come out and
see these youngsters perform. If
there is a good turnout, the band
will be encouraged and the pub-
lic will have additional pro-
grams. No admission charges for
the program Sunday afternoon at
2:00, April 6, at the city hall.
