Come to the next meeting of
the Burleson Elementary P.T.A.
and hear “Effective Learning
for the Aerospace Age” present-
ed by Mr. Joe Towns, Civil De-
fense Officer of Johnson Coun-
ty. This is a vital program in
these perilous times. Everyone
is urged to attend. Bring a guest
and come Monday night, Nov.
13th at 7:30 p.m. in the Elemen-
tary Auditorium.

Friday Night
The Burleson Business & Pro-
fessional Club met last Friday
night in the conference room at
Burleson Bowl.
During the meeting a large
group of members accepted In-
vitations and made reservations
to attend the South Fort Worth
B&PW Club’s fourth anniver-
sary meeting to be held Novem-
ber 9th at the Colonial Country
Club.
The election of officers of the
Burleson B&PW Club will be
held November 14th at the Bur-
leson Bowl at 6:30 p.m. No
dinner reservations are being
made, but individual orders will
be filled. Any working woman
in the Burleson Trade area is
invited to atend Tuesday's meet-
ing.

is set for Sunday, November
26, which is the church’s “Pledge
Day,” when final tabulation of
all pledges will begin. Other
events in the month include a
Loyalty Dinner on November
22, stewardship sermons by the
pastor, and testimonies and Sun-
day school lessons presented by
the members. December 3rd is
set for “Victory Day,” when Mr.
Boyd plans to announce to the
church that it has over-sub-
scribed its budget for 1962.

Postmaster L. A. Turner announced today that the
entranced test for the Peace Corps will be given on
Tuesday and Wednesday, November 28th and 29th, 1961.
Within a few days information showing the place
and time for the examination in this area will be posted
on the bulletin board of the local post office.
Postmaster Turner added that he would inform the
Dispatcher when the informaton has been received.
Thomas Conveyor Completes Mexican Contract
Thomas Conveyor Company, has just completed and shipped to Old Mex-
ico, belt conveyors that amounted in excess of $300,000. This concern,
Burleson’s largest payroll, has shipped conveyors to many parts of the
world, and has installed heavy machines for making conveyors in two
countries in Europe.

A group of Burleson business men
selected by representatives of General
Motors Chevrolet Division attended a
goodwill luncheon at the Burieson Bowl
Wednesday.
J. R. Morgan, District Manager of
the Chevrolet Division of General Mo-
tors of Dallas was introduced by R. L.
Stovall, of the Stovall Chevrolet Com-
pany. Mr. Morgan advised that the
meeting was strictly a goodwill affair,

Funeral services were held
Tuesday, October 31 at the
Presbyterian Church in Itasca
for E. L. Barrett, 53, who passed
away Monday, October 30, at
his home east of town, after a
long illness. Dr. Athol D. Cloud
officiated at the service. Inter-
ment was made in the Itasca
cemetery.
Mr. Barrett was a native of
Itasca and resided a number of
years in Alvarado before moving
here about nine months ago.
Survivors are his wife, four

LUNCHEON OF STOVALL CHEVROLET
with the hopes that the local agency and
the buyer could be drawn closer toget-

local men as to how Stovall Chevrolet
Company could improve their services,
with recordings being made of some of
the remarks, which will be played back
to employees of the local agent.

BAPTIST CHURCH BEGINS
STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM
The First Baptist Church of
Burleson began its 1962
stewardship campaign Sunday,

PLAN REVIVAL HERE
Revival services will be held
at the Burleson Methodist
Church beginning on Sunday,
November 12 and concluding on
Sunday, November 19th. Ser-
vices are scheduled at 7:00 each
evening and at 10:50 on Sunday
mornings.
The visiting minister for the
series of evangelistic services
will be Dr. Wayne Reynolds,
pastor of the First Methodist
Church in Weatherford.
Dr. Reynolds, who is Confer-
ence Secretary on Evangelism
for the Central Texas Confer-
ence of the Methodist Church,
has served effectively in numer.
ous revivals and is aggressively
evangelistic in the pastorate.
In preparation for the revival,
the Commission on Membership
and Evangelism o f Burleson
Methodist Church is giving lead-
ership to the organization of
prayer groups which will meet
in homes of members of the
church during the week of No-
vember 5th to November 11th.
The emphasis on prayer in pre-
paration for the revival will also
include a twelve-hour prayer
vigil on Saturday, November
11, from 12:00 noon to 12:00
midnight. The membership is
being informed of the details of
this prayer emphasis through
the Commission on Membership
and Evangelism.
A nursery will be provided
at the church during the revival
services. November 5, by adopting its new
budget of $44,360.84 Mr. Clay-
ton Boyd, the Campaign Chair-
man, has already begun the
month-long emphasis by ap-
pointing several persons to as-
sist him in the program. These
include: Earl Kesner, P. E. Wal-
ton, Mrs. Lorena Hardgrove,
Mrs. Dorothy Erwin, Mrs. Jack-
ie Boyd, Mrs. Winnie Bentley,
and Roy Austin.
The entire program is under
the guidance of Ed Schmelte-
kopf, pastor of the church. This
year’s theme for the campaign
is “I Will Be Faihtful,” and the
membership will be urged to be
faithful in all areas of life: time,

Local Pee Wee Football Homecoming
To Be Held Here Saturday Night
Burleson’s Pee Wee Football Team will celebrate their
homecoming Saturday night with a game against the Ridglea
Pee Woe Team of Fort Worth at 7:30 p.m. at the Burleson High
Stadium.
The Pee Wee Queen, yet to be announced from among four
candidates, will be named and crowned at the game.
Admission price is 50c for adults and 25c for studenta.

wins and no losses, they will receive a trophy in the later part
of the week. The trophy will bo displayed in the High School
trophy case. The team got their record by defeating Everman,
