The Great Force
In the world-wflde fusion of democratic peoples no
force will be greater or will pl.iy .1 more magnificent
part than music. It is the one universal language;
its appeal is made at once to the savant and the

If you have in your home
"The Phonograph with a Sotil"
the whole realm of music will be at your disposal.
Through the magic of its harmonies you will feel the
emotions that have inspired all those races whose
aspirations, before so different from ours, now must
be the same. It will help you to understand them—
and them to understand you.
Under music's spell autocracy cannot exi -t, for
music is democratic to the very core of its being. It
levels social barriers and is today more indispensable

Whir* Cultivation Counts.
Most of ua And It too muoh trouble
to really cultivate ourselves. We cul-
tivate people whose acquaintance we
think will make for our promotion ind
advancement. We cultivate those
whom we thlnlt ore powerful. We cul-
tivate the rich, the talented, the beau-
tiful outside of ourselves, without
realizing that real power, real distinc-
tion, eouies from within. If we would
(flvt$ lis much time tnid attcntiou to
making the best of ourselves as we
give to those nonessential things
which hamper our progress we should
all reach the situation we admire in
others. For no man or woman ever re-
ceives the best of life as a gift.—
Exchange.
No Royal Road to Knowledge.
Knowledge Is possible to all who
really want It. Short cuts always re-
duce to ridicule. Force equivalents
always beget rebellion and bloodshed.
There Is no royal road to the well-
stored mind today any more than there
was In the days of Pharaoh. Not
crowns of gold and precious gems, but
diadems of sparkling, penetrating in-
telligence proclaim the king. The fit-
ness that Is born from within, that
grows with every test, that makes a
man conscious of lits power conditions
life. When his head Is clear, and his
life Is clean he finds his proper place
among men. This raises him above
the masses. It's your privilege If you
will work for It.

Life
Was a
Misery
Mrs. P. M. Jones, ot
Palmer, Okla., writes:
"From the time 1 en-
tered into womanhood
. . . 1 looked with dread
from one month to the
next I suffered with my
tack and bearing-down
pain, until life to me wss
a misery. I would think
I could not endure the
pain any longer, and I
gradually got worse. • .
Nothing seemed to help
am until, one day, . . .
I decided to
TAKE
Ike Woman's Tonic
"1 took lour bottles,"
Mrs. Jones goes on to
gay, "and was not only
greatly relieved, but can
truthfully say that I have
not a pain. . .
" It has now been two
years since I tookCardui,
and I am still in good
health. . . I would ad-
vise any woman or girl
to use Cardui who Is a
sufferer from sny female
trouble."
If you suffer pain caused
from womanly trouble, or
If you feel the need of a
good strengthening tonic
to build up your run-down
system, take the advice
el Mrs. Jones. Try Car-
dui. It helped !*«• Wo

The Strength
Of Youth
With its ability to sustain burdens and
meet the reguirements of the strenuous
life—will not last always,
There will come a time in your life
when your bodily strength will not be
equal to the task of providing for your
physical needs.
That time may be distant.
It may be near.
Saving Will Provide
Waste will leave you defenseless
against that day,
"Thrift" and "Saving" are the earth
angels. They bring naught but happi-
ness and comfort it their train.
Come and let us mnke you acquaint-
ed with them. They are our servants
and will be your friends.
