tion every month; have a physi-
cal exam every year; have a
mammogram according to the
recommendations by age: 35-
40, one baseline mammogram,
40-50: a mammogram every 1
to 2 years, and over 50: yearly
mammograms.

pumpkins at their meeting
Monday afternoon at
Canadian Elementary School.
There were scarey faces, funny
faces, jack-o-lantem faces and
people faces. The 4-Hers en-
joyed the activity.
Kent Heatwole presided at
the meeting. The Pledge of Al-
legiance was led by Dillon
Hohertz and the 4-H Pledge
and Motto by Clint Miller.
Guests were introduced by
President Heatwole.

be done here November 4th
A Breast Cancer Screening
clinic will be held in Canadian
on Wednesday, November 4,
from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The
clinic will be at Hemphill
County Hospital. Exams will
be done by appointment only.

The Breast Cancer Screen-
ing Program of the Don and
Sybil Harrington Cancer Cen-
ter and High Plains Baptist
Hospital of Amarillo provides
the community outreach
clinics for early detection of
breast cancer.
Early detection of breast
cancer is the msyor goal of can-
cer control for each woman
seen in the clinic. The clinic
provides low cost screening
which includes a breast exam
by a Registered Nurse trained
in breast cancer detection,
teaching of breast self-ex-
amination, and a mam-
mogram.
Currently, the most effec-
tive method known to win the
battle against breast cancer is
early detection, which is best
done by following the
guidelines recommended by
the American Cancer Society,

have no signs or symptoms of
breast cancer are : Learn and
