are betting that the next big
fashion news in house furnish-
ings will be the sea. Watch for
fish motifs and sculptural aquar-

ITEM: Indian handcrafts are
entering the household textile
market. Quilted spreads, pillows,

WATER BILLS—
(Continued from Pg. l)
the city offices protesting
the water billings out-
weighed the cost savings
produced by the new sys-
tem, he said.
Severalpersons voiced
their opinions on the mat-
ter during Thursday
night’s meeting, many of
whom were attending a
council meeting for the
first time. The council
commended those who
were present and urged
them to attend other coun-
cil meetings in the future.
In other action, the
council unanimously
passed a resolution re-
questing the Texas High-
way Department and the
Johnson County Commis-
sioners officially desig-
nate county road 600 (Old
Alvarado Highway) as a
Farm-to-Market Road.
The proposed Farm-to-
Market Road would be
from I-35W on the north
end to Highway 6 7 on the
south. Severl residents
who lived alongside and
who traveled the road
were present and voiced
their approval to upgra-
ding the highway. Many
accidents and hazards
were cited as a result of
the condition of the high-
way.
The council heard the
second readings of Zon-
ing Ordinance B-159;
Building Code Ordinance
B-160; Housing Code, Or-
dinance B-161 and Sani-
tation Ordinance B-162.
All were approved.
In other action the coun-
cil approved a permit for
French Haralson to con-
struct restroom facilities
at Summercrest Swim-
ming pool.
Also heard was a report
by the Park Board on rec-
reational facilities and a
report by the Planning
Board.
