,I February 7, 1957 r A .41 Mr. and "re. Ray O'Bar Lawn, Texas Dear Mr. and '1rs. O'Bars It was good to receive your recent correspondence in which you asked me to opnose the school consolidation legislation that has been reoomnended by the Texas Board of Education. In my estimation, this proposal would do away with all of the smaller schools of the State, and eventually lead i to the destruction of our smaller communities. I certainly believe that you are right in opposing this legisltion. You may be assured that I will do everything possible to defeat this bill When it comes up for consideration. I certainly do appreciate the interest and friendship that people of your community have s own in me since I have been a member of the Legislature. I trust that my work here in Austin will nerit your continued support. a With kind personal regards, I am Sincerely yours, Truett Latimer TL:jh 3y, ,.% V S.- - -yt-1r . , i i - t m s~ e ~ . i n
