tired and was going to bed. When
Mr. Baldwin prepared to retire
at eleven o'clock he found Mrs.’
Baldwin dead in bed. Death was
contributed to a heart attack.
She was born and reared In
Titus county moving to Jefferson
19 years ago.
She la survived by her husband,
C. W. Baldwin; one daughter,
Mrs. Dorothy Baldwin; one son,
Charles Banks, stationed in Ger-
many; one grandson, Brad Lock-
ett of Jefferson; her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Boss Smith and her 101
year old grandmother, Mrs. Janie
Carmack of Winfield; one slater,
Mrs. Janice Clay of Winfield: and
four brothers, Morris and Mart-
shall Smith of Dallas, Julius
Smith of Texarkana and Ernest
Smith of Kermit.
Funeral services ware held at
the Haggard Funeral Home in
Jefferson Sundayy afternoon at
2 o’clock with Rev. Edward Park-
er officiating.
The body was then brought to
Winfield for burial. Graveside
services were conducted by Rev.
Parker and Rev. W. S. Milton,
pastor of the local Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arisona Landrum Bhurt-
leff passed away at the home of
her son, Erie Shurtleff and wife,
at 4:SI a.m. Friday morning after
a lengthy illness. She is survived
by her hueband, Oscar M. Shurt-
leff; ont daughter, Mrs. Edna
Cate* of Hopewell; one son, Erie
Shurtleff of Winfield; one sister,
Mrs. Nora Bridge* of Marshall
Springs; three brothers, Jim
Landrum of Linden, Robert Lan-
drum and George Landrum of Mt.
Pleasant; 8 grandchildren; one
step grandchild and 11 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at
the Methodist Church where she
was a member, Saturday after-
noon with her pastor, Bro. O. B.
Hardin and former pastor, Bro.
