tery The Rev Marion
Huckaby officiated for the
final rites
Mr Turner died Friday
morning in a Rusk hospital
following a short illness
He was born Nov, 30.1915
in Sherman and had lived
in Alto seven months He
was a retired construction
worker, a Marine Corps
veteran of World War II
and a Baptist
Survivors include his
widow. Mrs Kathleen Tur-
ner of Alto, a daughter,
Miss Jodie Kay Turner of
Alto three stepsons, Ken-
neth Boton of Houston, Roy
Boton of Oklahoma and
George W unrow of Alto and
three grandchildren

The Lady Jackets will
participate in the Troup
Tournament Oct 11-13 at
Troup
Nov 1-3 has been set as

The varsity and junior
varsity teams will play a
full schedule this year, with
the junior high team play-
ing district games only
Headquarters for Open
House will be in the Gym-
nasium
Ail dorms will be open to
the general public. Each
dorm will be co-hosted by

from the community will
be available to show the
dormitories, while dorm

questions asked by area
