DON H. MORRIS - PRESIDENT June 30, 1959
The Honorable Truett Latimer
4056 South Seventh
Abilene, Texas
Dear Mr. Latimer:
On behalf of the American Heritage Program of Abilene Christian
College I want to invite you and your guest to a dinner honoring
the Coe Fellows of the College on Tuesday evening, July 7, 1959,
at seven o'clock. The dinner will be in Catchings Cafeteria.
The speaker for the dinner this year will be Mr. W. L. Jameson
of Magnolia, Arkansas. Mr. Jameson is a banker and an industri-
alist who has for many years been vitally interested in good
government and sound economic principles for our country.
We have asked him to give his famed humorous speech entitled
"Arkansas," which he has delivered more than 500 times to many
distinguished gatherings, and then to give us the benefit of
his more serious thoughts concerning contemporary problems and
responsibilities of good citizenship. I believe you will enjoy
his address and find it profitable.
This is the third summer Abilene Christian College has presented
a program of American Studies under the sponsorship of The Coe
Foundation of New York City. During this first term of the
1959 session, there are 53 public school teachers from 35 Texas
cities and from Arkansas, New Mexico, Michigan, Indiana, and
Ohio enrolled in this program. These people are spending six
weeks on the campus doing intensive refresher work in economics,
the American forum, history, and government, and the banquet
comes at the close of their study.
Would you please indicate on the enclosed postal card whether
you will be able to accept this invitation.
S ncerely yours
Don H. Morris
