JOHN IVY P. 0. Box 485 HASKELL, TEXAS December 6, 1958 Mr. Truett Latimer Abilene, Texas Dear Truett It is soon going to be time for the Legislature to meet, and I just wanted to call to your attention the matter of remov- ing the age limits from the law creating the Office of Parole officer,( Or what ever the position is called.) I am still very interested in the office. I have worked as Chairman of Haskell County Parole Board for the past. eleven years, without any remuneration, and have enjoyed trying to help the parolees get rehabilitated. In eleven ye ars I have only lost one man. Truett, I realize. I am asking a favor of you when I am not in your District, but I have known you most of your life and have been a close friend of the Latimer family for years, and I think our District has a good man down there to represent ua but one without any qualificationa ours very truly John FIvy, Has ell, Texas
