  • Display Note: Lyndon B. Johnson served as U.S. Representative from Texas' 10th district from 1937-1949. Johnson served as U.S. Senator from Texas from 1949-1961. He served as Vice President of the United States from 1961- November 22, 1963, after John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Upon Kennedy's death, Johnson became President of the United States, serving until 1969.
