Why is it so important that we
preach “the cross, and Jesus Christ
crucified”? Why did Jesus say; “I am,
the way, the truth and the life, and
NO man cometh to the Father but by
me.” (John 14:6)
You see, it’s not the preaching that
is the power of God, but the “Christ
crucified” He, who is preached.
The cross of Christ is Gods power
unto salvation to everyone who be-
lieves. The stone, which the builders
rejected, has become the corner-
stone of our faith. He is precious to
those who believe.

Jackson to perform
at First Baptist
Keron Jackson is performing in a special con-
cert of Thanksgiving and Christmas praise mu-
sic at First Baptist Church of Center at 6 p.m. on
Sunday, Nov. 29.
Jackson has gained a reputation as an out-
standing singer with an unusual background, a
man with a voice as big as his personality. Of
course, you’d have to either hear him or know
him for that to make much sense. Jackson is
a gifted musician who has dedicated his life to
serving God through his gifts and talents.
Through his vocal gift, Jackson has been trans-
ported to opera houses, national singing competi-
tions, schools, and churches throughout the Unit-
ed States. He has a powerful bass-baritone voice
and a charisma that flavors his performances
from opera and musical theater to spirituals, pop
music, and gospel. Keron has performed the Na-
tional Anthem at political events, including open-
ing for Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum. He
mixes his God-given gift of song with a powerful
personal testimony of God’s grace in venues such

“For the preaching of the cross
is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the
power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18)
These words written by the Apostle
Paul rebuked the church at Corinth
as they were divided over preachers,
over who had saved them, instead of
being united for Christ.
They didn’t understand that the
Holy Spirit had saved them. They
also remind us that not everyone
who hears the gospel will be saved.
The lord of this world, Satan, has
blinded the minds and hardened the
hearts of so many that they cannot
see or hear and if they do, their hard
hearts will not let them believe the
gospel for the mind must receive
Christ before the heart can.
Let us, like Paul, be faithful in
preaching and spreading the Gos-
pel even if the world does reject it as
foolishness. Rejection by the world
will not lessen or diminish its power
to save those who believe.
Take the right STEP to turning
REALTY into REALITY!

That is why the church must
preach the Cross of Christ and Him
Crucified for all other words deprive
the gospel of its true effect.
Preaching only love and peace
and goodness while ignoring the
sacrifice of Christ on the Cross of
Calvary is popular in today’s warped
culture and is further evidence of
the work of Satan in his “cosmos”.
Look at what Jesus has done for
us. “In whom we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness
of sins, according to the riches of
His grace.” (Ephesians 1:7) Without
Jesus going to the cross and dying
there would be no hope, no chance
for eternal life with God.
“ Be it known unto you therefore
men and brethren, that through this
man is preached unto you the for-
giveness of sins. And by Him all that
believe are justified from all things,
from which you could not be justified
