But there is an "answer” to man’s needs; a strength for every day; "a very pres-
ent help in time of trouble”; a power of resistance; a "song in the night”. These
things, and more than these, are found in a Person; and that Person is Jesus
Christ. "Christ in you, the hope of glory”, is the way the apostle Paul stated it.
Here, too, is a parable of life. Man’s wisdom and moral strength alone are as
"nothingness” under the heavy pressures of life. Burdens, temptations, sin, sor-
row weigh heavily, and more heavily still, until life is crushed beneath the weight.

The teacher explains to the Junior Hi class how water in the can may be turned
into steam and released in such way that only a vacuum — a "nothingness” —
remains inside the can. This "nothingness” cannot resist the heavy pressure of
the outside air. The result? The can is twisted and crushed.
