The Valley this year is the rallying
ground of fly-by night promoters of
every description under the sun. Book
agents, special advertising promoters,
contest artists, and a hundred other
different kinds of get-money-quick
artists are flooding the Valley and
taking a fearful toll from the unsus-

1 Mail and passengers will make up
by far the-greatest bulk of the cargoes
for the air liners of the future, but
here again, he asserted, the first step
must be taken by the cities ■
Government and private aviation
enterprises are continually being ex-1
tended but must have adequate termi-
nal facilities. There must be provid-
ed by the cities before they can ex-
pect' td find themselves placed on pror
posed routes.
. PICKING THE POUT
“The selection of an airport does
not hinge so greatly on the distance
the port is from the destination point
but on the length of time necessary
to reach the port’, Fokkerexp,lains.
"If there is a fast mail or speedboat
service that will permit the field to be
reached in 10 to 15 minutes, that is
all that is required.
Cities with the foresight to provide
landing fields and aviation terminals
which appear ridiculous n the light of
present air requirements, need never
fear that there will be a surplus of
such facilities, he said.
The time is coming when all. that
are available will be used and when
air field space will be at a greater i
premium than auto parking space in
the metropolitan district of cities to-
day.

Dedicated to Miss Lyda Larson,
teacher of the First Grade at the Lin-

the occasion of the visit of two hens
to the class room, Friday.
Of course you know of Mary and
Her famous little lamb
You’ve read about their escapades
.That got them in a jam
But then we know that never did
You hear of both-the biddies
That Friday clucked >n Lincoln School
For all Miss Larson's kiddies
Now both the hens were wheeled to
school
In dolly’s baby carriage
They fluttered their feather, cocked
.their heads
And height let them disparage
They wisely blinked their- eyes each
time
Miss Larson read and wrote
As if they, too, were learning all
E^ch child put in his head
They acted very dignified
And both behaved quite well
They never once forgot themselves
. As they learned how to spell
But, goodness me!. we also learned
That while they tueked each leg
Beneath their feathers both forgot ‘

making all of sixty miles an hour.,

been a serious accident, the young
men would have been awfully sorry—
maybe.
